Tohoku-Kanto Great Earthquake - March 11th 2011
As you will know by now a series of massive earthquakes have struck Japan, starting at approximately 2.45 p.m. today. These earthquakes have been followed by large tsunami's which have devastated large parts of North-Eastern and Eastern Japan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this terrible disaster, wherever they maybe.
We would like to make a point of mentioning to our customers around the world that the staff and customers of Koibito Japan currently in Japan are all safe. We had a shipment leave Japan this morning 3 hours before the earthquake struck, and we will be giving updates on Monday for next week's scheduled shipment following the emergency closure today of Narita Airport. The closure at Narita is likely to temporary, but as you are aware the situation here in Japan is very fluid at the moment, so we will update with more information,as and when we have it for you.
Finally, thank you for the messages from those of you who have emailed us, we really appreciate the support from overseas at this time. Rest assure we are all fine, and will keep you up-to-date on the situation here in Japan.
