Our customers have found some interesting fish...and the Koibito team has found some too...
Takigawa, especially famous for his Koromo and Goshiki breed of koi, had a couple of spectacluar examples on offer when we came to visit. The strong 67 cm 4-sai Goshiki, pictured below, had just returned from the mud ponds, and we helped unload the truck and measure up the fish as they came in. This koi was spotted by our customer and snapped up on the spot. Also purchased at the same time was a beautiful 61 cm 3-sai Koromo, see below. This fish is was already going to be entered into the Hiroshima Koi Showa on November 3rd by Takigawa San, and we are all looking forward to seeing how it performs...fingers crossed!
Our trip to Shimane Prefecture produced the usual spectacuar fish we have come to expect from the Iizuka family at Matsue Nishikigoi Center. One of the two SHQ Kohaku purchased today is pictured below. The photo really doesn't do the koi justice. This fish has incredible fukurin, and fantastic body, and also really wonderful beni too...the full-set. It has been aptly named "The Hammer" by it's new owner, due to the shape of the beni on it's head! This fish will be kept on a Matsue Nishikigoi Center for the next couple of years at least.
