Shiro Bekko - Wakagoi Koi Show 2009
Koibito-Japan had the pleasure of picking up Best in Variety on behalf of a Dutch customer at the Wakagoi Show 2009.
We collected the Best in Variety for Bekko at the 2009 Wakagoi Show (Young Koi Show), on behalf of Gerwin Kieboom or Relaxzen, Raamsdonksveer, Holland. This 3-sai Bekko is from Yamatoya Koi Farm, more famously known for great Kohaku, and also the 2009 All Japan Grand Champion Showa. This Bekko was bought in 2007, and has been looked after excellently by Shiraishi San, (Yamatoya Koi Farm owner), since then.
Although many people are not fans of Bekko, considering them a lesser variety of Nishikigoi, you would have to say that this particular one is quite stunning, with fantastic Shiroji, a killer body, and well defined Sumi that looks well able to increase in depth as the fish grows to 4-sai and beyond.
